Key Idea: Insist on Excellent Character

Perhaps my single most important idea that I share on this idea is that we as women should

A. Walk in outstanding character ourselves
B. Insist on absolutely earth shattering character for our husbands

(Men are obviously free to read this blog too!)

Furthermore, because I am a Christian, I encourage myself and my fellow Christians to walk in true Biblical standards of Christlike character, and also to insist on the same from our spouses.

From reading accounts of relationship nightmares on Reddit, from watching videos on YouTube, it seems that many relationship challenges or difficulties boil down to character. So if we would insist on outstanding character from one another, from the outset of the marriage moving forward, it follows that that would instantly cancel out many marital problems. For instance, the following common marital challenges are issues of character:

– Cheating v being sexually faithful
– Being respectful to a spouse
– Domestic abuse or violence
– Being truthful, being full of integrity
– Both spouses pulling their weight in housework or chores without needing to be asked
– Financial abuse/infidelity
– Both spouses being willing to work hard to financially support the household

This is why I encourage everyone to insist on outstanding character both for their own selves and also from their spouses.
