Not for the sake of the patriarchy. Not for the sake of proving anything to anyone. But rather for your own sake and peace of mind. For the sake of avoiding all the potential complications that come with sex with someone who has not made a lasting commitment to you through marriage: pregnancy, STDs
And if anyone is trying to pressurise you into sleeping with him before marriage, you can instantly conclude that he does not have your best interests at heart. Ditch him. Seriously. Unceremoniously. Permanently.
