Feelings versus Friendship

Feelings versus Friendship

OK, as you may know, I can be very good at writing very, very long articles!  So I will summarise the point of this article here before going on to write at length about the subject matter.

In short, I really value friendship with my excellent male friends.  However, when I start noticing that one of them in particular is especially likeable, then I have to start battling my feelings, which are always ready and waiting (as it were!) Then I find it so hard to just be friendly and natural.  In practice, this means that I can be perfectly friendly, smiley, and laugh comfortably with everyone else (male as well as female), but it will be the one guy I most want to be friendly with that I will be slightly cold towards.

I wish I was allowed to say something (not to ask anyone out, but to just hint at the reason why things are awkward), but as a good Christian girl I can only pray that they will know, and that through it all we’ll be able to build a true friendship.  After all, I don’t know that this person is definitely “The One”, however, I do know that they are a great person and that I would value their friendship… 😉

Bible Verses:
Proverbs 3v5:
Trust in the Lord with all your heart,
And lean not on your own understanding.
